Broken Link Checker
Find broken links, failed links and redirects on a single web page. Paste a page address and every link on it is checked (up to 100 unique links), with each link's status, whether it's internal or external, where redirects end up and a CSV you can share.

How to use it
- Paste the address of the page you want to check, such as your home page, a blog post or a landing page.
- Press Check links. Checking can take up to about a minute; the elapsed time is shown while it runs.
- Read the counts, then use the tabs to filter to Broken & errors, Redirects or OK.
- Open any link marked broken in your browser to confirm, especially if the note says the site blocked the check.
- Fix or remove the broken links, update links that redirect to point to the final URL, then download the CSV or copy the broken links for your records.
How links are checked
- The page is fetched from BrandNXT's server with a “BrandNXT-Tools” user agent, following up to 10 redirects, and the first 2 MB of HTML is read. JavaScript isn't run.
- Every <a href> that leads to an http(s) address is collected; mailto:, tel: and javascript: links are skipped. #fragments are removed and duplicates are checked once. The first 100 unique links in page order are checked.
- Each link gets a HEAD request (headers only). If the server answers 400, 403, 405, 406, 429, 500, 501 or 503, it's checked again with a small GET request, because some servers don't handle HEAD properly. Redirects are followed, up to 10.
- Results: a final status of 400 or above is Broken; a link that ends at a working page after redirects is Redirect; a link that can't be reached at all (domain not found, timeout, refused connection or an invalid HTTPS certificate) is Error; a link to a private or local address or a non-standard port is Blocked and never contacted.
- Links are checked six at a time and each waits up to 8 seconds. If the overall time limit (about 50 seconds) runs out, the remaining links are marked Not checked.
- A link is Internal when it's on the same domain as the page (ignoring www.). Only public http(s) sites on ports 80 and 443 are contacted, and nothing is stored.
