Google SERP Preview

See roughly how a page title, URL and meta description could look in Google's results on desktop and mobile, and whether they are likely to be cut off. Handy for checking new pages, product listings and blog posts before you publish.

How to use it

  1. Enter the title, the page URL and the meta description.
  2. Optionally add a date, if the page is an article that may show its publish date.
  3. Switch between Desktop and Mobile.
  4. Read the truncation notes under the preview, and rework anything that is cut off mid-thought.

How the preview is built

  • Text is measured in Arial with your browser's canvas. Titles use 20px on desktop (about 600px available) and 18px on mobile (about 580px, which can wrap onto two lines). Descriptions use 14px with about 920px on desktop and 680px on mobile: roughly two lines on desktop and up to three on a phone.
  • Text that is too wide is shortened at the last whole word that fits, and an ellipsis (…) is added. A single very long word is cut mid-word. Emoji and accented letters are never split.
  • If you add a date, it appears before the description as “10 Oct 2026 — ” and uses part of the description's space.
  • The URL is shown as a breadcrumb: the domain without “www”, then each part of the path. Query strings and #fragments are left out.
  • The styling is an original approximation of a results page. It doesn't use Google's logo or assets.
