UTM Link Builder

Build campaign tracking links with utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign so Google Analytics and other tools show which ads, emails and posts brought people to your site. Existing parameters and #anchors in your URL are kept, old UTM tags are replaced rather than duplicated, and every value is encoded correctly.

How to use it

  1. Paste the page URL people should land on, starting with https://.
  2. Pick a quick preset or type the source (where the traffic comes from) and medium (what kind of traffic it is).
  3. Name the campaign. Add content, term or ID only if you need them.
  4. Leave lower-case values on unless your team deliberately uses capitals, and choose how spaces are handled.
  5. Copy the finished link, or show its QR code for print. Use the same naming every time so reports group cleanly.

How the link is built

  • Final URL = your URL + ?utm_source=…&utm_medium=…&utm_campaign=… (+ optional content, term, id) + #anchor
  • Existing parameters are kept exactly as they were; existing utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term and utm_id are replaced
  • Values are trimmed, spaces become _ or - (or are encoded as +), and & = # ? are percent-encoded with URLSearchParams
  • Lower-casing applies to every value except utm_id, which is kept exactly as typed
  • UTM parameters always go before the #, because that is where analytics tools read them
