QR Code Generator

Make QR codes for a website, plain text, an email, a phone number, an SMS or Wi-Fi login, and download them as SVG or crisp PNG. Choose the error-correction level, size, margin and colours, and see exactly what the code contains before you print it.

How to use it

  1. Choose what the code should do: open a website, show text, start an email, call, send an SMS or join Wi-Fi.
  2. Fill in the details. The encoded content appears below the preview so you can check it.
  3. Adjust error correction, margin and colours if you need to. Keep dark modules on a light background for the most reliable scanning.
  4. Download SVG for print and design tools, or PNG at the pixel size you need.
  5. Scan the code with a couple of different phones before you print it.

What each code contains

  • Website: the URL itself (http:// or https:// only)
  • Email: mailto:address?subject=…&body=… (percent-encoded, line breaks as CRLF)
  • Phone: tel:+<digits> SMS: sms:+<digits>?body=…
  • Wi-Fi: WIFI:T:WPA|WEP|nopass;S:<name>;P:<password>;H:true|false;; with \ ; , : " escaped by a backslash
  • PNG: every module is a whole number of pixels, centred on the size you choose, so edges stay sharp
