Social Engagement Calculator
Calculate the engagement rate of a social media post, or of several posts together, by reach, impressions or followers. You choose which interactions count (likes, comments, shares, saves and optionally link clicks or video views), and the tool shows exactly how the rate was worked out.

How to use it
- Choose what to divide by: reach, impressions or followers. Each gives a differently defined rate, so keep using the same one when you compare.
- Pick Single post or Multiple posts.
- Enter likes or reactions, comments, shares and saves (blank counts as zero). Turn on link clicks or video views if you want them included.
- Enter the post's reach, impressions or follower count.
- Read the rate, the totals and averages for multiple posts, then copy the results or export a CSV.
Formulas
- Total engagements = Likes + Comments + Shares + Saves (+ Link clicks and Video views when included)
- ER by reach (%) = Total engagements ÷ Reach × 100
- ER by impressions (%) = Total engagements ÷ Impressions × 100
- ER by followers (%) = Total engagements ÷ Followers × 100
- Multiple posts: Overall rate = Total engagements ÷ Total denominator × 100; Average rate = mean of each post's rate
